This learnership was one of the first times I got to spend time with people in a solely work environment. Although this can be anxiety-inducing, it ultimately taught me how to adapt to how my coworkers work, as well as give me insight into the bigger picture of the world of work.Being a learner may seem tough at first. However, you may be able to find your niche and learn more about yourself while doing so. Nobody said interning would be easy, but it is up to you to take ownership of your development and to learn and grow.

Abafundi, in partnership with recruitment and training specialists, has successfully placed 63 unemployed candidates within Host Employer’s workplaces.

Candidates embark on various interventions such as learnerships, internships, work integrated learning, which are combined with a one-year Work Skills Programme.

They are placed within various business sectors and are mentored by their respective line managers, focusing on Interpersonal development.

In addition, they receive a strong foundation and understanding of the World or Work, how to manage and conduct one self in the workplace, and further hands on experience in their respective fields and qualifications.

The objective is to further provide opportunities at an entry level into permanent positions upon successful completion of the programme.

Ntsakisi Dumisani

"The level of growth is magnificent, and I learn something new every day. The company is diverse, and I get to learn from all departments and receive hands on experience and development within accounting.

After completion of the one year works kills programme I know that I will have a good grounding for application in Auditing firm and what I have learned will stand me in good stead"

Erwin Pillay

"The graduate programme has helped me decide my career path going forward, it’s helped me learn more about the field I’m in and implement what I have learnt while studying for my BCOM Accounting degree.

This programme no doubt gives you a strong foundation to embark on your career and also equips you with valid skills and knowledge."

Tashreeka Barends

"It’s no secret that there are too few hours in the day. At first, the Learnership seems overwhelming because of the added responsibility and time commitment to completion of your assignments and to balance this with work.

The exposure that you get will always stand you in good stead and gives you and excellent grounding, you do have an advantage as you have been exposed to the ‘World of Work’."

Noluthando Maseko

"I have learned how to manage multiple projects as well as find niche potential talent in the market.

I have grown and developed and have learned how to implement in a fast paced environment and also have realized my strengths."
